Dr Nick Ware - Locality Healthcare Professional (Wiltshire)
Nick was appointed as the Locality Healthcare Professional (Wiltshire) on 1 April 2020.
Nick realised early on in medical school in central London that he wanted to be a GP. His lightbulb moment was during a placement outside London in Somerset. He tested this out by doing one of the first junior doctor foundation rotations to include primary care, based around East London.
He trained as a GP in Bath and did his final year in Corsham, Wiltshire. He became a GP partner immediately afterwards and has worked ever since in Calne, Wiltshire. Since the inception of practice based commissioning he became his practice lead and was subsequently invited to be part of the Wiltshire CCG North and East Executive.
As well as being a partner, he also supervises junior doctors both in specialist training and foundation level.
Outside Medicine his three young sons keep him busy, somewhat limiting his other hobbies of skiing and coaching rowing.
