The Freedom of Information (FOI Act) gives anyone a general right to request information held by public sector organisations like ours. The aim of the Act is to create a climate of openness in public services and to inform people how public authorities make their operational decisions and how public money is spent.

Before you submit a FOI request

  1. Search for the information you are looking for on this site using the search icon at the top of this page. In order to keep FOI requests to a minimum, we automatically publish a wide range of information – such as minutes of meetings, board papers and policies, financial transactions.
  2. Get in touch with us directly at bswicb.communications@nhs.net if you are looking for information for some research you are conducting, either as part of a college project or medical studies.

Submitting your FOI request

Requests must be made in writing to the following email address. Due to Covid-19 pandemic we are not currently working from ICB premises and will not be able to process requests received via the postal service.

Email: bswicb.foi@nhs.net

We will respond to your request within 20 working days. For more information about Freedom of Information requests, exceptions and timings please see the Information Commissioner’s Office Guide to Freedom of Information.

Please note that your request will be automatically forwarded to South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit, an NHS support organisation operating under the authority of the NHS Commissioning Board, whose staff manage requests on our behalf.

They will acknowledge and deal with your request for us, and will only use your personal information for this purpose. All information provided is held within secure computer systems and managed in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Legislation.
