Our Health, Our Future

During the summer of 2019 BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire CCGs and our voluntary sector partners Healthwatch launched public engagement exercises to find out how local people would like to see health and care services develop in the future.

BSW CCG’s Our Health Our Future campaign collected the views of over 2000 people. We asked what would help them to find and use local health and care services more easily, and how we can make sure these services provide the support they need to stay healthy and happy now and in the future.

The full report along with a summary of the results are available in English, Easy Read and Arabic here: www.ourhealthourfuture.org.

The survey results, alongside separate findings collected by independent health champion Healthwatch as part of the What Would You Do? campaign, were used to develop a five year plan for health and care services for BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire as a local response and implementation plan for the NHS’s own national Long Term Plan.

The BSW plan for health and care 2020 - 2024 reflects the views and feedback given by local people and outlines a blueprint for integrated health and care services in BSW.

The plan outlines the top priorities for people in BSW including helping people to stay healthy and independent in old age, offering more help for those with learning disabilities and improving access to mental health services.

The plan also sets out we will empower people to improve their own health, help GP surgeries to work more closely together and reduce variation in care and services offered by the area’s three hospitals.
